Dallas, OR – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is warning Oregonians to be cautious after a new phone scam surfaced involving callers posing as law enforcement officers demanding payment for missed jury duty.

According to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, the scammer recently called their own Public Information Officer, identifying himself as an officer and demanding $1,000 to clear a supposed “Class C citation.” The encounter, captured on video and shared by both sheriff’s offices, shows the caller eventually giving up after being questioned repeatedly…
