Tacoma-based MultiCare Health System and Corvallis, Oregon-based Samaritan Health Services have approved an affiliation agreement allowing Samaritan to join MultiCare.
The affiliation is expected to be finalized by mid-2026. Under the agreement, MultiCare will allocate resources over the next decade to upgrade Samaritan’s facilities, expand primary and specialty care, and implement new technologies and telehealth services. The plan also includes expanding Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center by increasing inpatient capacity. Additionally, the affiliation will integrate MultiCare’s behavioral health network into Samaritan’s service area, enhancing access throughout the mid-Willamette Valley and central coast, a press release noted.
For now, there are no changes for patients, employees, or health plan members, and Samaritan will continue to operate as it does today…
