‘It’s frustrating’: Wife of Oregon guardsman wishes for remaining soldiers to return home

SALEM, Ore. (KPTV) – Lately, one Salem mom-of-five said park days with her five children are not the same.

“We have hopes he’ll come back for the holidays,” she said, “He had told me he was going to demobilize and come back home, but that didn’t happen. The kids are missing him all the time.”

Mirella told FOX 12 her husband is one of 100 Oregon National Guard troops still on standby at an Oregon Military base — wondering when he can come home. Her husband left in late September when the Trump Administration deployed 200 Oregon soldiers to protect federal buildings, like the ICE facility…
