Axe-wielding suspect shot, injured by deputies, Wilsonville officials say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Law enforcement officials are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Wilsonville on Friday night after a suspect charged two deputies with an axe, authorities said.

The incident happened near Southwest Stafford Road and Southwest 65th Avenue, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Just after 5:30 p.m., Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies contracted to the Wilsonville Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance involving a moving vehicle.

“Two Wilsonville deputies located the vehicle near SW Stafford Road and SW 65th Avenue in unincorporated Clackamas County. When the vehicle stopped, the lone occupant charged deputies with an axe, and an officer-involved shooting occurred. No deputies were injured,” CCSO said in a press release…
