DETROIT, Ore. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to draw Detroit Lake lower than usual over the next few years to help two endangered salmon species migrate.
Detroit Lake is already low, which is standard in the winter as the reservoir is drawn down to reduce flood risk. But the Corps plans to lower it an additional 55 feet below normal winter levels to comply with federal law.
