PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Residents in a Corvallis neighborhood evacuated their homes Tuesday morning as authorities searched for a person with a stolen firearm, according to police.
Around 8:30 a.m., Corvallis police and Benton County deputies were in the area of 800 NW 23rd Street to issue a search warrant, but said the situation quickly “escalated into a barricaded, armed subject situation.”

“Out of caution, nearby residents were evacuated, and law enforcement established a safety perimeter,” Corvallis police said.
