‘Widespread’ flooding forecast in parts of SE Portland, Clackamas

The National Weather Service on Thursday warned major flooding fueled by unrelenting rain could inundate roads and buildings near Johnson Creek and the Clackamas River.

The water level of Johnson Creek was forecast to crest above 14 feet at 10 p.m. on Thursday at a weather service measurement site just south of Powell Butte. That would approach the record of 15.3 feet set in 2015.

The National Weather Service said similar floods have forced the evacuation of homes near the creek, and that residential and commercial areas near the creek should expect widespread flooding…
