Corvallis police found a barricaded suspect dead from an apparent drug overdose during a firearm warrant service after hours of negotiations involving multiple agencies.
Corvallis, OR. — Authorities have released an update on a law enforcement incident that unfolded Dec. 16 in the 800 block of NW 23rd Street during the execution of a warrant related to a stolen firearm.
At approximately 8:30 a.m., officers from the Corvallis Police Department responded to the residence to serve the warrant. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Corvallis resident Jacob Jaeger, barricaded himself inside a room within the home and told officers he was armed with a handgun. He refused repeated commands to exit the residence.
For roughly three and a half hours, officers from the Corvallis Police Department, Benton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Linn County Regional Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team attempted to resolve the situation peacefully.
