BENTON COUNTY, ORE. – Rising water levels in Philomath are causing concern as local authorities urge residents to stay prepared. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office has highlighted the risk of flooding, particularly around Fern Road and Chapel Drive, where water levels are already reaching concerning heights.
Multiple road closures are affecting areas in Corvallis and Philomath. Despite the current situation, Beverly Lonsway, a long-time resident and owner of Farm Antiques, has observed that the waters are not as high as in previous flooding incidents.
“I consider it just high water,” said Lonsway. “And when we have a flood, there’s water all around and very deep.”
