Oregon man dies after driving on flooded road, sheriff’s office says

A 52-year-old man from Amity died Friday after his car was swept away by flooding along the South Yamhill River.

The Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office said the unidentified man drove past road closure signs into high water on Southwest Dejong Road.

Someone who called 911 around 7:40 a.m. told the sheriff’s office they saw the current pull the driver’s car toward the river, where they saw just one person get out of the car…
