Storage 4 Less says city order for 2 fire hydrants will cost $300K+

A Salem business is accusing the city of retaliating against them for complaining to elected leaders about the city’s sign code and is now ordering them to add fire hydrants to their back property — a project they say will cost them more than $300,000.

Melissa Pollman, co-owner of Storage 4 Less and ConKraft Construction, said she and her husband, Dean Pollman, are now tasked with fighting against the city order to add a fire hydrant to the back of their property in an industrial area of south Salem. They say the order came despite them having permits and a certificate of occupancy signed years ago without issues. The business is appealing the order.
