LEBANON, Ore. — Lebanon Fire District (LFD) tells us that firefighters responded to a structure fire on Weldon Road on Monday afternoon, December 29th. The homeowner, upon arrival, heard smoke detectors and noticed melting window blinds.
The on-duty Battalion Chief, who was the first to arrive, assumed the role of incident commander and observed light smoke emanating from the eaves of the house. After a 360-degree assessment, he encountered gray smoke at the front door and promptly closed it to prevent the fire from spreading.
Due to the rural location and lengthy driveway, firefighters laid over 400 feet of supply line, supported by multiple water tenders. The crew entered through the front door and located the fire in the kitchen. They successfully extinguished the blaze, ensuring it did not spread to the attic or walls.
