A third grade student in Newberg takes the prize in contest mounted by the city
And the winner of the city of Newberg’s second-ever street sweeper naming contest is: Sir Sweeps-a-Lot!
The winning entry was chosen from among 95 submissions received by the city by the deadline in late November. The other entries among the top five were Brush Lightyear, Sweeparella, The Grim Sweeper and Hungry Hoover, according to Emily Salsbury, the city’s interim public information officer.
