The Salem-Willamette Valley Airport lost its federalization on Dec. 30, suspending Transportation Security Administration regulations and paving the way for TSA to remove screening equipment.
“Now that SLE is not federalized, TSA security regulations no longer apply, and SLE will operate as a General Aviation airport,” Salem Public Works spokesman Jason Roberts said. “Our current airport users and tenants likely will not see any impact from the change.”
