Oregon man sentenced for methamphetamine distribution conspiracy

SACRAMENTO, California — Julio Cesar Nevarez-Erunez, a 24-year-old from Salem, Oregon, has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.

Nevarez-Erunez conspired with Juan Niebla-Osuna, a 28-year-old from Downey, California, to distribute methamphetamine in the Eastern District of California and beyond, according to court documents. On July 13, 2022, the pair sold 15 pounds of methamphetamine to a confidential source. Nevarez-Erunez was arrested on October 6, 2022, with 40 pounds of methamphetamine and 5,000 counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl. A search of their Los Angeles area residence revealed an additional 7 pounds of methamphetamine and 2.5 pounds of fentanyl powder.

Niebla-Osuna previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine but failed to appear for sentencing on August 28, 2025. A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest…
