Salem man sentenced for killing ex-wife after body found wrapped in plastic in car crash

MARION COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) – A 40-year-old Salem man who pleaded guilty to shooting and killing his ex-wife was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday, according to the district attorney’s office.

Tyler Holman pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on Jan. 5, nearly a year after he crashed a car while carrying the dead body of 34-year-old Ashley Gandalfi.

Early in the morning of Jan. 27, 2025, Holman was involved in a single-car, rollover crash in Polk County, with intoxication suspected as the cause. He was injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment…
