Salem man awarded nearly $1 million after wrongful murder conviction

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The man wrongfully convicted in 2000 for the murders of three people finally received full compensation from Oregon.

After spending 11 years behind bars, Scott Cannon was exonerated in 2009.

Now, he’s been awarded more than $700K to help make up for the financial toll of his wrongful conviction.
