OSP Log: Crashes in Klamath, Jefferson, Clatsop, Lane and Yamhill counties claim 5 lives

FRIDAY, JAN. 9

• 6:20 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 about 30 miles north of Modoc Point in rural Klamath County that took the life of Douglas Alan Fordyce, 61, of Caldwell, Idaho. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Fordyce was stopped westbound on Silver Lake Road at the intersection with Highway 97 in a Ford F-450. The Ford attempted to enter the highway and was struck by a southbound semitruck driven by a 29-year-old Fresno, California, man, causing a side-impact collision. Fordyce was declared deceased at the scene. The truck driver and a 31-year-old Fresno, California, man passenger suffered minor injuries…
