OREGON — A bill to protect Oregonians’ mental health from artificial intelligence programs is getting wide bipartisan support in Salem.
Senate Bill 1546 requires AI chatbot platforms to develop and use safe responses, like referring people to crisis hotlines such as 988, if chatbot users indicate they are looking to hurt themselves.
