Salem-Keizer Public Schools is celebrating Classified School Employees Week from March 2 to 6. This week is all about recognizing the hardworking staff who help keep our schools running. They play a big part in making sure students feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
This is the second annual week-long celebration as we align with the new statewide week recognized under Oregon HB2708.
Our Classified Employees
Classified employees include bus drivers, custodians, office staff, nutrition workers, instructional assistants, and many others. They greet students in the morning, keep buildings clean, prepare meals and offer learning support in classrooms. Their work may happen behind the scenes, but it is essential to student success.
Every day, these employees make a difference by building positive connections with students. A kind word from a bus driver, extra help from an instructional assistant, or a warm meal from the cafeteria staff can brighten a student’s day. They do more than just their jobs—they create a welcoming school community.
