Corvallis, OR. — The final phase of a major water infrastructure upgrade beneath the Marys River is set to begin in early March, according to city engineers.
The project will replace an aging 20-inch water pipeline located under SW 3rd Street just south of the Marys River. The existing pipe has reached the end of its service life and will be upgraded to a 36-inch diameter line. The new pipe will connect to the water main installed beneath the Marys River last summer, completing a multi-phase effort to modernize the system.
Construction is expected to begin during the first week of March. Because of the dense and complex network of underground utilities in the area, crews will use open trenching across SW 3rd Street to install the new pipeline…
