Salem teen shot, injured man before DUII arrest, police say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Salem teenager was arrested after shooting a man prior to being arrested for DUII on the same evening last month, authorities said.

On Thursday, 19-year-old Salem resident Izaha Gabriel Silva was indicted by a Marion County Grand Jury on multiple charges related to the shooting that left a man injured on February 4.

At 11:40 p.m. near 1200 State Street, Salem police responded to reports of a 24-year-old man who had been shot in the shoulder, but the suspect had left the scene before officers arrived.

Later that same evening, Oregon State Police arrested Silva for suspected DUII, and a handgun was found in his car at the time, the Salem Police Department said…
