Lizzy Williamson leads Oregon State to WCC semifinal

The Oregon State women advanced to the West Coast Conference tournament semifinal for the second-straight year, defeating Portland 60-50 Sunday at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

A strong finish to both halves pushed the Beavers to the win, overcoming an overall poor shooting performance. The Beavers shot just 34% from the field (21-for-61) and went 2-for-10 from 3-point range, but a 12-0 run over the final five minutes of the first half gave Oregon State a come-from-behind 31-25 lead heading to the locker room at halftime.

A strong defensive performance by the Beavers in the third quarter held Portland to just nine points after the half. Portland put on a strong third-quarter defensive effort in its own right, though Oregon State battled to the rim consistently.
