Man accused of Salem gas station burglaries also nabbed steaks from Rudy’s Steakhouse, officials say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An alleged steak-stealer has been arrested for burglarizing a Salem gas station on several occasions.

On Thursday, the Salem Police Department arrested Paul Harter in connection with multiple burglaries impacting a 76 location on 2890 12th St SE. He is now being held in Marion County Jail on charges including first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree burglary, second-degree theft and a parole violation warrant.

This arrest comes after detectives from the Felony Crimes Unit identified Harter as the suspect in three different burglaries that happened over a four-month span, according to SPD. Authorities said the 39-year-old man was already on supervision for other burglaries, including one in which “hundreds of pounds of premium steaks” were nabbed from Rudy’s Steakhouse.
