PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 93-year-old Salem woman was found dead just before noon on Sunday after she was reported missing hours earlier, authorities said.
The family of Hisako Gaunce said she didn’t come back after she left for her early morning walk from her home in the 5000 block of Gaffin Road SE, the Salem Police Department said.
“Officers canvassed the area, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue and an Oregon State Police tracking canine responded to assist with the search. Shortly before noon, the canine located Hisako in Mill Creek, approximately 200 yards from her family’s apartment,” Salem police said in a press release.
