PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A Marion County judge recently rejected an executive order from Governor Tina Kotek that would have required state-funded construction projects to be built with union labor.
In December 2024, Gov. Kotek issued Executive Order 24-31, which required project labor agreements for all state construction projects.
The executive order was challenged by several groups representing union and non-union contractors including The Associated General Contractors, Oregon-Columbia Chapter, and Associated Builders and Contractors, Pacific Northwest Chapter.
