The group that led the gas tax referendum effort is suing Oregon Secretary of State Tobias Read in federal court after a Marion County judge ruled against it in a suit over legislation that moved the vote from November to May earlier this month.
The new lawsuit, filed on March 17, has a different focus from the first one and more closely resembles a different federal case where the judge granted some of the requests.
The new suit was filed against Read on behalf of the Right to Vote on the Gas Tax PAC, four individuals and an unspecified number of unidentified people.
