PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Salem man was arrested Saturday after a robbery and hit-and-run, officials said.
At around 3 p.m., Salem Police said they responded to a reported theft near the 2800 block of Broadway Street Northeast, where a suspect had taken over $100 in merchandise.
Police said that when the suspect left the store, an employee tried to stop them, which resulted in an altercation, and a getaway driver, later identified as Gilberto Hernandez-Betancourt, 35, struck the employee with their car.
