Marion County deputy found justified in shooting Salem man after 911 call from alleged hostage

SALEM, Ore. (KPTV) – A Marion County Grand Jury determined that a deputy was justified in shooting a Salem man after the sheriff’s office reportedly received a call from a person claiming they were a hostage.

According to the Marion County District Attorney’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call from a home on State Street on the morning of March 17.

While at the scene, the DA’s office says deputies received a second call from the home, but left the scene when no one answered the door…
