Salem Woman Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash On I-5 Near Canyonville

A 25-year-old Salem woman died Thursday evening in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near Canyonville, according to Oregon State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash around 6 p.m. on April 2 near milepost 95 in Douglas County. Police said a silver BMW 320, driven by Siayrah Jade Steeley, 25, of Salem, was traveling southbound on I-5 when it left the roadway for unknown reasons near the milepost 95 offramp.

According to investigators, the vehicle traveled about 400 feet along the grassy shoulder before striking a tree. The BMW then continued another 40 feet down the riverbank, where it came to rest and caught fire…
