ALBANY, Ore. – An Albany man who beat his mother to death in 2023 was committed to the Oregon State Hospital on Monday after pleading guilty by reason of insanity.
Prosecutors and defense attorneys agreed that Michael Flitcroft met the criteria for lifetime commitment. He was convicted of assault, murder and burglary.
