Sherwood unveils 1st enclosed contemporary office, study room

On Friday, April 10, the Sherwood Public Library revealed something that’s long been missing from its vaulted stacks — a place to meet someone in person, engage in virtual meetings, meet a business client, participate in a legal proceeding or even hold a telehealth conference with your doctor.

That came in the form of the library’s first-ever modular meeting space, a soundproof 8-foot-by-10-foot pod, created by the Finland-based furniture designer Framery, and installed by Harris WorkSystems, a Tigard-based ergonomic commercial furniture dealer.

The new $30,000 space-age-looking structure was funded by the Sherwood Library Foundation — more colloquially known as SHELF — along with local donations, grants and even some matching contributions from some employees…
