SALEM Ore. (KPTV) – A train derailed and crashed onto a semi-truck in northeast Salem on Thursday, according to the Salem Police Department.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m., a Portland and Western train was reported derailed at or near Cherry Avenue Northeast and Johnson Street Northeast.
According to police, one of the train cars hit a semi, but no one has been reported hurt and there does not seem to have been any hazardous waste spills at this time.
Cherry Avenue is closed from Johnson Avenue to Salem Industrial Drive NE, and will likely remain so through the night…
