8 charged in drug ring that shipped fentanyl and meth to Oregon and other states

OREGON – Eight people face federal charges for their alleged roles in a drug trafficking network that moved methamphetamine and fentanyl from Mexico into California and distributed it across the United States, including Oregon.

The organization transported drugs into California from Mexico before distributing them across the country through shipping carriers and vehicles. The drugs were sometimes hidden in children’s toys or cereal boxes.

Tania Argueta, 47, of Las Vegas, Nevada, allegedly worked as a drug and money courier for the organization, traveling across the United States to pick up drug proceeds. Rene Cazares, 39, of Salem, Oregon, allegedly operated a stash house in Salem where he received large amounts of drugs from couriers and distributed them to local Oregon customers at the direction of a co-conspirator…
