Bomb squad checks out ‘suspicious’ backpack near Aurora State Airport; Roads briefly closed

AURORA Ore. (KPTV) – Officials closed roads near the Aurora State Airport in Marion County on Saturday morning while officers investigated a “suspicious backpack” found nearby, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Arndt Road Northeast and Airport Road Northeast were closed for two hours while officers with the Oregon State Police bomb technicians checked out the backpack and determined there was no danger.
