Update, 9:39 p.m.:
The University of Utah emergency alert system is notifying those enrolled to immediately shelter in place due to the Bonneville Fire.
“If the situation changes, an update will be send immediately. Please avoid the area,” the alert read.
Update, 8:30 p.m.:
The fire burning near the University of Utah has grown to approximately 200 acres with 0% containment, authorities said. Minimal road closures are in place, and no structures are threatened.
All evacuations have been voluntary, except for the Red Butte Arboretum and surrounding trails, which will be closed through the night and into the morning as crews work to contain the fire…
