Coffee shop to be torn down for new affordable units near Poplar Grove

A Salt Lake City coffee shop will be razed as part of a plan to build affordable housing units on the edge of the Poplar Grove neighborhood.

Switchpoint Coffee, located at 2080 W. North Temple, will be demolished later this year to make way for an 80-unit housing project, according to the developer and a demolition permit filed with Salt Lake City last week. The building totals around 5,600 square feet, and the land is currently zoned as MU-6.

The permit says the demolition will be replaced by 80 affordable housing units…
