Evacuations ordered as wildfires threaten towns, cabins in central, southern Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Residents in Eureka and cabin communities east of Beaver were forced to leave as two of Utah’s largest active wildfires surged across tens of thousands of acres. Meanwhile, crews continued gaining ground on fires near the University of Utah and Saratoga Springs.

Wildfires continued burning across multiple parts of Utah, prompting evacuations, threatening structures and keeping hundreds of firefighters on the fire line.

The most urgent concerns centered on the Iron Fire near Eureka and the Cottonwood Fire east of Beaver, where residents and visitors were told to leave affected areas. Fire crews also reported progress on the Bonneville Fire above Salt Lake City and worked to contain the Dutchman Fire in Utah County…
