SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — HawkWatch International is asking Salt Lake City residents to be on the lookout for an escaped hawk named Stax.
According to HawkWatch, Stax is a Harris’s Hawk who escaped on Monday afternoon and was last seen near 900 East and Simpson Avenue in the Sugar House area. This is near HawkWatch’s offices.
“If you are local to the area, we humbly ask that you help us search for our missing hawk. Our team is putting in all our effort to find him, but we would appreciate as many eyes to the sky as we can gather,” HawkWatch writes.
The nonprofit says Stax is wearing leather anklets and brown jesses and had a small band on his right leg. HawkWatch notes that you may hear the Harris’s Hawk before you see him, and provides a link to what his call sounds like…
