SALT LAKE CITY – Advocacy groups opposed to the 90 percent reduction in the acreage of the Bear Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments here in Utah are planning a day of action on Monday, July 20.
With Gov. Spencer Cox and the Utah congressional delegation on hand in the Oval Office on July 13, President Donald Trump announced those monument reductions, touching off a furor of opposition within environmental and conservation organizations in Utah and the Southwest.
Organized by the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, those July 20 protest in Ogden, Salt Lake City, St. George, Moab and Provo will target the same political figures who supported Trump’s action a week earlier…
