South Salt Lake project causing head-on close-calls, residents plead for help

SALT LAKE CITY — A South Salt Lake resident said the major construction project outside his home is causing regular close calls with wrong-way drivers.

The man asked to remain anonymous, but shared multiple videos of wrong-way drivers on his street, including a school bus. He lives on West Temple between 2700 South and 3300 South, where the traffic has been reduced to a single lane travelling northbound.

“I would say within a week we had our first near head-on. And then it happened again. And again. And now we’re eight or nine weeks down the road, and we’re here, and we just want something done about this.”…
