WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — After the attack of a Muslim man at Valley Fair Mall last week, the Islamic Community in Utah gathered together with local leaders to discuss their safety and their response to the alleged religiously motivated incident.

On July 13, Sohail was working the Maga Incorporated Diamonds kiosk at the mall when an individual approached him. The individual, identified as Peter Michael Larsen, 48, asked if Sohail was Muslim and, upon learning that he is, allegedly stabbed him over a dozen times.
Sohail was taken to the hospital in critical condition and underwent surgery. He faces a long recovery, in addition to health issues he was struggling with before the assault.
Sohail addressed the town hall and claimed he has no hatred in his heart for his attacker. “Bless his soul guide him to the right path, fill his heart with kindness and compassion,” he said…
