SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Thursday, Utah! The bottom line of the forecast? Temperatures begin to warm near the 100° mark along the Wasatch Front on Friday, but extreme heat watches have been issued for this weekend for highs between 100°-105° for consecutive days.
Today’s weather
Our Thursday will bring another chance for isolated showers and storms. The overall coverage should be less than earlier this week, but still a few downpours will be possible. The best area to see these isolated storms will be east of I-15 and south of I-70 in Utah.
High temperatures will warm near average, with mid-90s for highs across northern Utah. Daytime highs will warm near 105° for St. George.

Pioneer Day forecast
It’s going to be a hot Pioneer Day across the Beehive State. We’re looking at partly cloudy skies. Our rain chances will remain pretty low, but a spotty shower will be possible across Utah.
High temperatures will climb into the upper 90s to around 100° across the Wasatch Front. High temperatures will climb near 105° across southern Utah.
Weekend heat dome
A ridge of high pressure will retrograde back west over us this weekend. This will allow for the core of the heat dome to be centered over Utah. High temperatures will warm between 100°-105° for many valleys along the Wasatch Front. Daytime highs will warm between 107°-110° near St. George.
