SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Three years after the inception of a global, collaborative effort to advance the welfare of women and children across Africa and Asia, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has committed an additional $65 million dollars to the initiative.
The Church gathered with seven humanitarian organizations to review the first three years of the Caring for Women and Children Global Consortia, where it was announced that the initiative has helped improve the well-being of 52 million people in 12 countries.
The initiative involves the Church, CARE, Catholic Relief Services, Hellen Keller International, The Hunger Project, iDE, Save the Children, and Vitamin Angels. In total, the church has committed $184 million…
