SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Summer heat isn’t going anywhere, putting vulnerable groups, like the unhoused, at extra risk. One Salt Lake City-based organization is working to keep those who have fallen on hard times as safe as possible.
Rescue Mission Salt Lake has executed Operation Hydration every Summer for the last half-decade. Outreach Coordinator Kyle Carson said that what Rescue Mission does for those who need it most in the Salt Lake area is more than just about what they hand out.
“Showing them that we care, that they’re listening. They’re heard. Because at the end of the day, they’re who matter most,” Carson expressed. “It’s our goal to build and maintain trust with them, with the help that they know that the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake is a safe place to be, and I think for me, being heard and being understood matters way more than anything else.”…
