Utah weather: Isolated thunderstorms will become more widespread as temperatures take a dip

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Monday, Utah! It’s another hot and slightly humid afternoon across the Beehive state.

Today’s weather: Isolated thunderstorms

The heat dome has shifted to our east, opening the door for some monsoonal moisture to flow back into the state. This will bring a chance for isolated thunderstorms across Utah Monday and Tuesday afternoon.

The best chances will be in the higher elevations east of I-15 and for the mountains south of I-70. Daytime highs will still warm into the mid to upper 90s across the Wasatch Front. High temperatures will climb well into the triple digits across far southern Utah.

Tomorrow’s weather: Mid to upper 90s

Tuesday will bring the chance for a few isolated afternoon pop-up storms. The best chance on Tuesday seems to be lining up with parts of west-central Utah and southern Utah.

Daytime highs will once again warm into the mid to upper 90s across the Wasatch Front. Highs will likely top out only around 100° or less in southern Utah where we will increase the chance of storms.

Looking ahead: Monsoonal moisture

Wednesday will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine across Utah. The Monsoon flow will provide a slightly better chance for scattered showers and storms during the afternoon hours. High temperatures will only warm near 90° across the Wasatch Front and mid 90s for far southern Utah…
