SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Monday, Utah! It’ll be a fairly pleasant day for most of the state with partly cloudy skies and seasonal temperatures.
Today’s weather: Calm conditions
Highs today will be similar to yesterday, if not a degree or two warmer. Most valleys will top out in the low 90s, but higher valleys like Cedar City or Logan will see upper 80s.
The warmer spots in southern Utah should hit the upper 90s while St. George barely breaks into triple digits. It’ll be dry with increasing cloud coverage, but there will still be plenty of sunshine to go around.
Tomorrow’s weather: Isolated thunderstorms
A slight disturbance will impact the state on Tuesday. Temperatures will remain in the low to mid 90s for most of the state, and upper 90s to low 100s for the typically hotter spots. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms will be seen in the mountains, particularly the Wasatch and Uinta Ranges. We can’t totally rule out a brief thunderstorm on the Wasatch Front and Cache Valley, but it won’t be enough to be an outdoors-buster.

We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds, but very little to no rain on valley floors. A breeze will start picking up Tuesday and into Wednesday, which may bring an “Elevated” fire threat to parts of western and southern Utah.
Looking ahead: Gradual warming trend
High pressure will sit over the state through the midweek, which will help with our gradual warming trend into Thursday and keep valleys dry. However, mountains could see thunderstorms each day after Tuesday. The moisture increases through the week, and on Thursday night and a stray shower might roll over cities along I-15 from the Wasatch Front to St. George.
On Friday the moisture will notably increase as the high-pressure ridge slides to the east, allowing a more prominent monsoonal flow to set up. Thunderstorm potential increases on Friday with a chance of isolated thunderstorms in St. George, and a slight chance on the Wasatch Front…
