In loving memory, Scott Alan Walton

Scott Alan Walton passed away on August 26, 2026 following a valiant fight with cancer.

Scott was born on February 21, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Leon “Howard” and Geraldine “Jerry” Walton. He was sealed to the love of his life, JeriLynne Marshall, in the Salt Lake City Temple on November 5, 1976. Together, they lived in Utah, New Mexico, and Wyoming-eventually settling in Riverton where they spent 33 years and raised their five children: Holly, Derek, Ryan, Heidi, and Parker. Their marriage became the foundation of a beautiful family and a life built on faith, hard work, service, laughter, and love. Scott and Jeri retired and moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 2021.

Hard work was woven into who Scott was. He managed Smith’s grocery stores for 14 years before owning several businesses including Budget Blinds, Walton Distributing, two Dollar Discount stores, and a Ben Franklin craft store. In 2009, he began working for UPS where he remained until his retirement. Whatever the job, Scott gave it his all and instilled that same work ethic in his children…
