Utah’s first Sweetgreen opened in Sugar House this week, offering customizable salads and bowls.
Context: The popular restaurant chain is in over 20 states, but it hasn’t come to Utah until now.
- “It’s probably one of the most requested cities,” c0-founder Nicolas Jammet told KSL about why the chain is expanding in Salt Lake City. “A lot of our existing customers that know us move here.”
💠My thought bubble: I’m not the type of person who thinks a meal needs a “crunchy, leafy green,” but I knew I had to go after my California friends sang its praises.
What I tried: I enjoyed the maple-glazed salmon plate over a bed of rice, napa cabbage, sweet potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts.
- I swapped the garlic aioli for the green goddess ranch.
- It was tasty, and I appreciated that it had around 31 grams of protein, keeping me full for the rest of the evening.
The bottom line: Sweetgreen is a great option if you need a healthy meal in a pinch…
