SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Monday, Utah! A cold front sweeping through northern and central Utah is bringing temperatures 5-10° below average with fall-like temperatures for many. Overnight lows will cool into the 40s and low 50s, with drier conditions remaining in place to start the week.
Today’s forecast, flash flood threat
We’ll start our week off on a cooler note with a fall-like temperatures for many. Daytime highs will run 5-10° below average across northern and central Utah as a cold front that slid through the overnight hours will keep a northwest flow in place.
Expect highs in the low to mid 70’s across northern Utah with southern Utah staying on the warmer end and keeping the 90’s. Conditions will stay dry for most of Utah with the exception of the southeastern portions of the state where moisture will continue to linger, bringing chances of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
With the threat of thunderstorms over this region, there will still be a flash flood threat with a 5% risk of excessive rainfall highlighted for portions of southeast Utah. For our National Parks across southern Utah, the flash flood threat will be “Probable” for Natural Bridges and Grand Gulch and “Possible” for the rest of our National Parks with the exception of Snow Canyon and Zion.
With the cooler daytime highs means overnight lows will be on the cooler end with a crisp feel to it and perfect conditions to open the windows. Lows tonight will drop into the 40s and 50s for most of northern Utah with a few 30s possible across the Cache Valley and Wasatch Back.

Conditions will stay dry Tuesday, though breezy southwesterly winds will persist across southern Utah with daily chances of afternoon showers and thunderstorms for the southeast portions.
